I managed to read this book with my book club and next to The Glass Castle it was definitely my favorite book we read through 2019.
The story is amazing and has so many twists and turns that sink it's claws into you throughout the entire read which keep you interested; the characters are so well developed and have so much detail and thought written into each one of their personalities as well as the relationships between each one of the characters makes moments happening between them impactful; but I think me favorite thing about this novel was the scenery. I loved every time there was a paragraph the author wrote that focused directly on the background. Delia really managed to not only write the reader into the year and what it was like in North Carolina in 1969; but her writing was so detailed and just amazing that I never had any difficulty painting the image of the Marsh into my head. It made the novel an entire experience to read and I loved every chapter of it.
The twists and turns, the amazingly developed characters and the beautiful scenery made for just a truly wonderful, well rounded and joyous read that had my attention from start to finish.I managed to read this book with my book club and next to The Glass Castle it was definitely my favorite book we read through 2019.
