I love Marian Keyes, and I was fascinated with the way in which she painted the portrait of a man who wasn't what he appeared. The approach she took was to tell three different womens' stories of their relationship with the same man. If you didn't know from a summary, for a while, you would think this was the most charming man you'd ever met. But the women eventually describe otherwise. Even better, in the process in recounting their relationships with Paddy, who Paddy is, they ultimately tell their own stories. And these were the people worth knowing about. I was especially touched by Marnie's story, and how Paddy influenced it. I didn't give it a higher rating because I will say it was probably longer than it needed to be.
