4-4 1/2 star read. This is the 23rd book in Connelly's terrific Harry Bosch series and his second in the Renee Ballard and Harry Bosch series and it was a humdinger of a read. Harry's old mentor in the police force dies and his widow gives Harry a murder book, one that he took when he retired from the force. As Harry starts to investigate, he brings Renee in on the case and they partner on it. Ballard also has a case and Harry helps her with it. There are a lot of twists and turns in both cases and Harry and Renee end up putting a lot on the line to try to bring the cases to their conclusions. A very good read and I look forward to the next one in the series.
