A very well researched piece of historical fiction that takes one back to the beginning of the previous century. It is more a mild suspense novel than a thriller. The attention to detail is astounding for such a light reading book that conjures up memories of reading the adventures of Captain Biggles for those that grew up with it plus a bit of moral dilemma thrown in gratuitously. With its almost sanitized and abstract portrayal of war and destruction where characters aren't just from the good side and the bad side, it reads like a book version somewhere between the "war comics" popular in the UK and the Adventures of Rin Tin Tin. Nevertheless, an entertaining book for all ages which keeps one turning pages till the end. Also interesting for some factual historical tidbits you might pick up as well.
