Miss Dimple Kilpatrick and her friends pool their clues to help solve the mystery. As usual the WWII period details are right on. I know, because that was when I grew up, as did Ms. Ballard. The main characters have developed well over the series, and even the minor characters have depth to their personalities, which enables the author to bring them to the foreground for their brief contribution, and we care about the resolution of their part in the story. A very satisfying cozy mystery.
