Spoiler alert: the first time you see the character Richard DeBlass, if you have any mass media experience at all you should know you have your villain. He’s a conservative republican senator running for president on a ticket of morality and restoring the right to bear arms. Take him away, officer, and skip the next 225 pages; but if you do you’ll miss the explicit sex scenery suitable for mental voyeurism. Lt. Eve Dallas. She’s a dedicated cop, the best her commander has. She doesn’t comb her hair; she doesn’t want a man. Oh sure, she’s had sex, but it’s nothing special, until she meets Roarke, the man of every woman’s unfulfilled dreams. He’s rich, really rich, accomplished, provides spectacular sex and he understands her perfectly. Anyway, there you have it.
