it was a 'something to do' book. A little predictable, especially if you've read the other books in the series.

Routine, humdrum, dull, predictable. This once good series is no longer so good. Too many books being cranked out too fast. At least they have lowered the amount of profanity used by all characters, and especially Dallas.

Fun quick read. Pure formula with cardboard characters and no mystery about who dunnit. Eve and her partner Peabody solve the mystery of two murders using golden eggs filled with chemicals which kill quickly once opened.

This is one of those books I couldn't put down and yet I wanted it to go on forever. The team working together to solve a murder in 2061 was great. With the help of her husband and some specialized equipment that gives time of death, although with security cameras the norm rather than the exception, it still takes good old fashioned detective work to solve this one.

This was another great book in this series and showed a little softer side to Eve and Roarke.

Absolute drivel.
Apparently people are either saints or sociopaths. Nothing in between.
There is no real plot, no real mystery. There are endless descriptions of decor in offices, houses, etc to fill the pages and repetitive interviews that simply paraphrase the same dialog. And nauseating drivel about the side effects of privilege when Eve lives the most privileged life of all!
Life is simply perfect for Eve, a perfect marriage, a perfect partner, perfect friends, a perfect boss, a perfect squad...everyone is now 2 dimensional and heading toward the mathematical challenge of being 1 dimensional!
There is no tension, no drama, no character development, no plot...just nothing.
It is a shame. I keep hoping that the series will go back to its heyday but alas!

This is the 50th (wow!) installment of Nora Robert's amazing In Death series. It's a wonderful read with great Eve/Roarke moments! The scene where they plant their tree together is fantastic. The plot is fast-moving and timely. I did figure out who committed the crime, but being with Eve, Roarke, Peabody, Feeney and the rest of the gang is what really makes these books special. The theme of a character's ability to choose his/her own path is central to this plot. We also get to see a great moment when Peabody is pushed to the limit and of course Eve has her back. J.D. Robb does not disappoint with this fabulous book. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

I don’t get the bad reviews. I’ve read all the death box and I thought this one was absolutely excellent.

I couldn't finish this one, just too boring. This is the first in the series that I didn't enjoy, maybe it's time for some new characters or a new series.

I've read them all, many more than once, but this one was the first one I didn't finish. It was extremely BORING. Robb really phoned this one in. Same old routine with the husband, Peabody, the cat, all of them. Again, BORING.
