Summary
Add a SummaryThis book is about the life of Caitlin O'Koren, after her sister runs away on Caitlin's birthday.
Constantly in her sister's shadow, Caitlin struggles to find a way to do something that Cass never did. Be something else.
Her parents, devastated, are consumed by grief and, her mother especially, try hard to throw themselves into other things to distract themselves.
Caitlin still trying to understand her feelings about Cass' disappearance, continues on to meet Rogerson Biscoe. A olive skinned, teenage boy, with dreadlocks and a hazy background.
They become attached at the hip, always together.
But what happens when it turns out that Rogerson is a drug dealer across town?
Caitlin will suffer through some hard decisions, and some even harder circumstances as she learns who she is without her sister at her side.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book.
I have read it twice now, and each time I was sucked into the world of Caitlin O'Koren.
There are some days I really wish Sarah Dessen would write sequels to her books, but I think that this one is great just as it is.
Before I even started writing anything let me say I got goosebumps. This was my favorite Sarah Dessen novel. I had this book on my shelf like forever until my bestie told me to read this. This book I have no words to describe. Caitlin suffers through everything. Her parents are upset about her sister Cass running away. She is upset that her perfect kind of sister is no longer present and there is nobody that she actually can talk to. She seeks her herself under Rogerson. Now before I begin my rant about this gentleman I am undecided about him. I know for sure what he did was not justified in any case. But he was also a victim of abuse. I cant judge him before I read Lock and Key. This book will definitely give a new persective and was a life changing for me. There are some books that you read and then you cant stop thinking about it, you thing how differently you could have done things if you were in Cass positition. But it wont justify. Nothing will justify. But when it ended I had tears of joy and sad. I didnt know what to feel. Thats what Ms. Dessen does to you. This was my 5th Sarah Dessen book and I looking forward to read all of them... <3
I've read this book about 5 times now, and I still enjoy it every time I read it. It is one of my favorite books of all time and I would absolutely recommend this book.
Wow.... this book was so amazing and heart wrenching its actually hard to describe. Ive recently been going on a Sarah Dessen reading spree and this is different then any of the other books ive read by her. Caitlin can relate to a lot of teens when she relizes she is loving someone she shouldnt and just cant stop. This story has some definite lows and some not so high highs but truly encompasses some of the choices that teens have to make. This book will give you a new insight on life, what it means to break the mold and really show how lucky some of us really are.
one of the best books!! I didnt think any of her books were good at all they were fantastic! I loved them allllllllllllll <3
Made me love my life, carefree and safe. A very touchy subject for me, so hard to put down.
Really touching. Really made me think about what some teens go through.
Dreamland is probably Sarah Dessen's most haunting, passionate, strongest book she has ever written. While reading this book I felt like I was going to cry harder and harder every chapter. This book proves that everything is not what at it seems but at the same times doesn't surprise you at all. Dreamland is a must see.
Agree with 'dancergirl111' but i got to say that it was a good book but it's not one of my favourites; could of read another good book that's worth my time. If you are super busy and only read one/two books a month then i suggest you read a better book because this will depress you. BUt this will be a good lesson if you are too "love blind and (no offense) stupid to keep your life in line. UPDATE not one of her best i gotta say (read more of her books)
