I did like this book. I give it a begrudging 2.5 stars. It would be excellent for a book club as there are a million things I would like to discuss about it. I think as a social worker I didn't find it mind-blowing but I enjoyed the overall message of a call to action. There were certain aspects that I did not appreciate; largely the absence of women throughout the narrative. It did come across as slightly self-indulgent as well.

Full of truth in a world which speaks in hushed euphemisms, Under the Overpass challenged my faith and reminded me of those I had forgotten - and what it truly means to be content in all circumstances.
