Unemployed after high school in the highly robotic society of 2154, Lisse and seven friends resign themselves to a boring existence in their "Designated Area" until the government invites them to play The Game.
I thought It would be a little more interesting. The story Is rushed along, the characters are dull And 'The Game' Is plain out Boring. I had a really hard time staying focused. All in all, Its a dull, boring book, so if you like books where nothing really happens, This is your book.
Interesting plot. The ending was nice and tied up all the loose ends. It's a little like the hunger games. the characters are likeable. great quick read.
Whether you love The Hunger Games or Ender's Game, you'll LOVE The Game.
As with The Hunger Games and Ender's Game both, The Game isn't as straight forward as it seems. Lisse and her friends struggle in their existence as part of a "Designated Area", living and working as a team. But that gets dull and their interest is piqued by a game, one that you need to be invited to. And so they manage to get themselves an invite, but it isn't at all what they (or you!) expect.
A shorter book, fantastic for those looking for something to dive into after The Hunger Games, or for girls looking to get into sci-fi.
