This is probably in my top five favorite series, along with the Inheritance Cycle, The Keeper of the Lost Cities, The Last Dragon Series, and the Trials of Apollo. It's not my favorite, but it's up there. Cal is as hilarious as Holly and Cassandra's trouble with finding a good cover artist.

Seriously, though, you'd think that there would be someone out there who could do some decent cover art for this series, the best cover art is on the fifth book, and Cal's face is messed up in that one!

In The Iron Trial, Callum Hunt heads to the Magisterium, a school of witchcraft and wizardry. But his father tells Callum to try his best to FLUNK out of the school. Cal is confused at this request but his father convinces him to do so. But unfortunately, Cal fails at his attempts and is accepted to the Magisterium as an Apprentice to Master Rufus. But there is an even deeper reason why his father wanted to make him flunk other than how bad magic is. An even deeper reason that will question the reliability of his own soul.

Two of my favorite authors, Holly Black and Cassandra Clare, have teamed up to write one of my favorite Juvenile Fiction series. This is such a fun series, I highly recommend it.

This is the first book series I have read that has drawn me into it's plot in the same way Harry Potter did! Very well done, and a round of applause to the author for keeping me guessing right up to the very end!

Interesting book, it has a prologue that really draws you in, and some nice parts that makes me wonder about it. Love each of the main character's personalities and spirit. Overall a nice book and I recommend it to others!

"They all yelled in excitement. Tamara yelled because she was happy. Aaron yelled because he liked it when other people were happy, and Call yelled because he was sure they were going to die".

In this book Call was always told to avoid magic and to fail the test when it was time to see if he could join the Magisterium. And when he tries to fail, he fails at failing.
He goes through many adventures at the Magesterium, and, according to him, makes the first friends in his life. In the ned there is a special twist. I recommend this to anyone and everyone.
