Well, First emoji was recognized as a new language, and now they make movie out of it. It's time I brush up on this new thing. :)

A clever and cute comedy movie for kids that is really enjoyable.

The voice actors for this movie were some pretty big names, but just as I suspected, a movie based on a text keyboard of is not going to be a strong film. Kids will most likely enjoy it.

The animation is smooth and lively, but that's the only positive I could take from this movie. It is a mess of a movie with jokes that will automatically date it within the next 5 years, there is no chemistry between our heroes, and the narrative claim that emojis are the most important form of communication is the reflection of a fad that will fade in time.
While a claim can be made that this is a movie for kids and shouldn't be judged so harshly, kids deserve better than this.

Watch Wreck-It-Ralph for a better story about tech-jumping and accepting yourself and your flaws. Skip this.

This movie is made for kids, and kids will like it. Yes, for adults, much of the movie is trite, but the overall message is positive and the movie is a cute animated feature for kids. Even my teen liked it, though he had no interest in a second viewing when the younger repeated it the next day.

Somewhat amusing with a thin story line (and a whole lot of product placement for various apps (really, it’s almost like a giant commercial)); but was entertaining enough. Is likely destined to become dated really quickly as technology moves on.

"The Emoji Movie unlocks the never-before-seen secret world inside your smartphone. Hidden within the messaging app is Textopolis, a bustling city where all your favorite emojis live, hoping to be selected by the phone's user. In this world, each emoji has only one facial expression - except for Gene, an exuberant emoji who was born without a filter and is bursting with multiple expressions. Determined to become "normal" like the other emojis, Gene enlists the help of his handy best friend Hi-5 and the notorious code breaker emoji Jailbreak. Together, they embark on an epic "app-venture" through the apps on the phone, each its own wild and fun world, to find the Code that will fix Gene. But when a greater danger threatens the phone, the fate of all emojis depends on these three unlikely friends who must save their world before it's deleted forever."
