Networks and Power, From the Freemasons to Facebook

Throughout history, hierarchies housed in high towers have claimed to rule, but often real power has resided in the networks in the town square below. It is through networks that revolutionary ideas can contagiously spread. Niall Ferguson tells the story of the rise, fall, and rise of networks, and shows how network theory - concepts such as clustering, degrees of separation, weak ties, contagions and phase transitions - can transform our understanding of both the past and the present.

the last 100 pages covering the evolution of social networks and their impact (i.e. Brexit, Trump) are worthwhile reading

He uses so many words the book's prose can best be described as dense, as in a dense thicket. I wish he had more poetry experience. With a poem the more thought you put into it the fewer words you need. He needs more thought.
