Loved the book but didn't like the ending. Read other reviews about the ending. Author should not put a preface - it is misleading. Without the preface, I would have been ok with the ending.

“You don't love someone because they're perfect, you love them in spite of the fact that they're not.” This was such a great story about what a family experiences when one of them has a terminal condition. Living with impending crisis is…

This was a beautifully written story! Seemingly unrealistic but at the same time not. I think this book really allows a person to think "what if" or "what would I do?" In typical Picoult factor there is a lot of back and forth between…

The prose and pacing are solid, but: Bloated number of characters, way too many points of view False advertising, it is not in fact much about the "main" character, it is in fact about the adults. There's a romance novel hidden in this…

Finally got around to reading this book by one of my favorite authors. Enjoyed it and both sisters were very likable, The ending, however, was a total shock.

A well-told story, but not a happy one. Picoult classic, pulls the heart strings and makes you think about what you would do or feel in this situation.

Gets to be a bit too transparently manipulative, but there are some powerful scenes. My mother would like this one.

This novel by Picoult, provided us with a great amount of insight as to how the whole family can be affected by one child being diagnosed with a severe illness. The older son was emotionally neglected, and even the parents had become…

This book is laughably bad. A fascinating idea for a plot but the characters are terribly drawn, the hackish cliches are endless, there is an obvious ad placement of a website (!!!), and the ending is so cringe-worthy that I actually…

I had this book on my shelf for many years before I got up the nerve to read what I thought would be extremely depressing. I was so surprised at how well the book was written, with insight from every major character. It wasn't as sad as…

Riveting and devastating. Master of the plot. Like Louise Penny and Anna Quindlen, I'll now be reading all her novels. Only an intelligent, compassionate and deep person could write like she does.

I am honestly amazed by Jodi Picoult's work and talent. My sister's keeper has one of the best plot twists ever. While reading this book I imagined myself endings but it was far from what actually happened. It's a heartbreaking and …

I really enjoyed this book for the fact that it places the thought of what is morally correct. Anna's journey to help her sister with cancer and having to make a choice that regards her own body is endearing. Every character in the book…

Well.....that answers that: would I enjoy Jodi Picoult's writing? Answer: No, I don't. I found the story long drawn out with very little substance to the heartbreaking story she was trying to tell. Add a romance to draw in more readers,…
