Interesting idea but many of her explanations about the Book of Two Ways were confusing and different time periods of the characters in the book were confusing also...so though the original concept was interesting, her execution of ideas…

This book made me think so much about so many things—death, the paths not taken in my own life, the complexities of love, the simplicity of love . . . I also learned a lot about Egyptian history and their burial ceremonies, sometimes more…

This story was a mess, and the ending was a cop out.

4.5/5 stars - There were many things I liked about this book, the ending not being one of them. Overall, this was an enthralling read. It could get a bit into the weeds with the Egyptology and the quantum physics. But I enjoy Egyptology…

Books should have a strong and interesting beginning, emotional and interactive action in the middle, and a definite ending. SPOILER - The Book of Two Ways is immediately bogged down in Egyptology, lacks a strong middle, and simply ends in…

I am a huge Jodi Picoult fan, but this one was a disappointment. I wanted to quit reading it several times and with how it ended I might as well have.

I loved everything about this book, from learning about death doulas to Egyptology. It was beautifully written with outstanding characters. So glad I got to meet this author in 2020. ❤️

I enjoyed the book but agree that there was too much detail on Egyptology. SPOILER - The ending was frustrating as I really wanted to see how she would be able to make a choice.

Beyond excellent. Full of truth and beauty, life and death and above all love. It made me think- about life and the world we live in and at least 4 kinds of love and jsut as many types of sacrifice.. Books hard to put down seem so few…

The Book of Two Ways was recommended to me for the Death Doula elements, since I do some end of life care. There are long passages I skimmed that red like an Egyptology and Physics textbook rather than a fiction novel, though the split…

I have loved every Jodi Picoult book, until now. This one included way too much detail on mummies/tombs and quantum physics. Maybe I'm just not scholarly enough, but I felt like I was reading a textbook at times so I skimmed through…

Never having heard of a death doula before, this was a fascinating peak into it. Our book club enjoyed the split geography of this book and some of us really enjoyed the Egypt segments for the history. We all liked this book and found it…

Oh boy I don't belong to a book club but I'm sure there would be tons of discussion. I agree there was far too much info on Egyptology and yes the ending is maddening. I think Wyatt was somewhat of an ass.

Definitely did NOT like this book of Jodi's. Much too much boring and incomprehensible Egyptology. Almost stopped reading it but I wanted to see what would happen at the end so skimmed through the long-winded parts.

Loved this book overall. Loved the words attributed to main character. Felt sympathy when her mother died but her waffling over which man to choose and her erratic behavior stretched my belief system. And suddenly leaving her child made…

Love Jodi Picoult but not one of my favourites.

I found the main character's change from Egyptology to becoming a death doula intriguing. Well written and I really enjoyed the book.

I normally love Jodi Picoult's books and can't wait to put them down, but I found this one quite boring. I ended up skipping paragraphs since it seemed to delve too deeply into Egyptian history and, honestly, I don't think it really…

This book introduced me to Egyptology, ancient Egypt burial customs , the beauty of hieroglyphics and the beauty of the art found in and on coffins; the science and logic of quantum mechanics; lastly, death doulas and the preparatory…

The first book in a long time that I couldn't finish. I really tried, because I usually enjoy Jodi's books. But it was so wordy, so overly descriptive with all the Egyptian stuff (which I would normally find interesting but it was just too…

It was slow in beginning but I did like the comparison of the death doula and study of the Egyptians. I could understand the feelings regarding death and living and process of dying.

Ugh -- a really annoying and self-righteous first-person narrator with a complete lack of introspection assisted by some dishonest narrative (i.e. being unclear/deceptive about the order in which the various events unfold). Throw in way…

I can see why the ratings on this book are so divided. There were things I loved about it (if you are not interested in Ancient Egypt it probably won't hold a lot of appeal for you) and there were topics that were new and compelling for…

Nope, not for me. Pretentious. Reads like a textbook but I didn’t want one.

I have been enthusiastic about all the Jodi Picoult books I have read - until this one. If you are very keen to be instructed frequently about Egyptian archaeology, or quantum physics, you might enjoy this book. It moves between time and…
